David is the coauthor of The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors and Closing Deals Online, with Scott Allen. The Virtual Handshake is the first business book about how you can find new clients, new business partners, or even a new job with Web 2.0 technologies. More technically, this is the first business book about “social software”: blogs, social network sites, relationship capital management software, and so on.

David was formerly CEO of Teten Recruiting, an executive recruiting firm specializing in serving the hedge fund, private equity, investment banking, and strategy consulting industries, which he sold to Accolo, #42 on the Inc. 500 list. He was also formerly CEO of an investment bank focusing on serving the internet domain name asset class, which he built to 450 customers. He has worked with Bear Stearns' Investment Banking division as a member of their technology/defense mergers and acquisitions team, and was a strategy consultant with Mars & Co. David holds a Harvard MBA and a Yale BA, both with honors. He lives in New York with his family and two laptops.
